Network Administrator

Summary:

ETB Services, Inc. is a professional IT company, servicing the needs of small to medium-sized businesses in the greater Philadelphia area. We are looking to hire an experienced Network Administrator to enhance our support processes, and become a strong member of our Support team. Our ideal candidate would have a strong computer network background, combined with the support experience required to be an effective team player in the execution of our daily tasks and projects. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and an analytical thinker who can develop sound resolutions to daily customer IT issues. This candidate must be able to develop a positive rapport with customers and coworkers, while managing multiple assignments and customer requests. The ability to adapt to demands and variations are a requirement, including the willingness to go the extra mile to support a customer, even if it means occasionally using time beyond regular business hours. As a team member of a small business, it is important this candidate is able to handle a wide variety of tasks at various levels of complexity without any reservations.

Responsibilities:

This position will be primarily performing level I & II support operations, with an occasional level III request. In addition, they will be responsible for assisting with the oversight of our managed services platform. We support our customers in all of their technology requirements. This includes everything from help with servers and workstations, to recommendations on business IT infrastructure, to basic systems maintenance. The individual we seek must be confident in handling challenges of all sizes and find reward in helping customers make the most of their technology. Responsibilities for this position are detailed below:

  • Help with routing all incoming phone, email, and service ticket requests and serve as the first point of contact for all levels of the customer base via phone, remote access, or onsite requests to render a solution in the most efficient manner
  • Support Windows servers including Small Business Server (SBS), Exchange, anti-virus, backup/disaster recovery, client-server software packages, and hardware troubleshooting
  • Support Windows desktops with management, virus/spyware prevention, and hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Support hosted email and file sharing systems, such as Google Apps, Hosted Exchange, Jungle Disk, etc.
  • Setup and troubleshoot mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads, Androids, and Blackberries
  • Support remote access systems such as Remote Desktop, LogMeIn, VNC, GoToMyPC, etc.
  • Plan, maintain, and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks
  • Advise customers on the best solutions to address issues such as network security, business availability, network performance, data storage, and disaster recovery
  • Quickly define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions
  • Documentation of customer activities in our billing and timekeeping system, using accurate descriptions, concise explanations, and proper grammar and spelling

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher; IT related is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the technology industry
  • 1 or more Microsoft certification is highly preferred
  • VMWare, CCNA, or related certifications are a plus
  • Familiarity with ConnectWise or similar client CRM/ticketing system for record keeping
  • Experience with a Remote Management and Maintenance tool such as Kaseya, Labtech, Zenith, N-Able, etc
  • Hands-on experience with Windows 2003/2008 networks including installation, maintenance, and support of Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010 including installation, maintenance, and daily support
  • Strong background working with IP addressing/routing, firewalls, VPN, DNS, and DHCP
  • Knowledge of PC hardware installation, imaging, deployment, and configuration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior use of Microsoft Small Business Server 2003/2008/2011
  • Experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi) or Microsoft Hyper-V is a plus
  • Work well under pressure, prioritize, meet established goals and objectives, self-directed
  • Advanced problem-solving skills utilizing cognitive thinking and technical intuition
  • Strong written and verbal communication, time management, and record keeping skills
  • Ability to be part of the rotational on-call schedule to provide emergency support after normal business hours once a month
  • A valid PA Driver’s license and must pass a background check
