Erik’s Editorial Corner

erik_barnshawI recently traveled to Florida for the IT conference I have attended many times in the last several years. I have gotten quite familiar with the venue, the classes, etc. I was happy to find this year felt a bit different with a new venue. Although the discussion material and people were similar to previous years, it was refreshing to have new food, different paths to walk, and a new place to explore.

I am a big believer in always moving forward and always striving for more. Not only is it important for your personal growth, but it is also a critical part of staying ahead of your business competition as well.

For the first time since attending the conference, I used Uber for our transportation. I was told they’ve only been in Orlando for about a year and a half, but that’s long enough for them to become a real player in the transportation business down there -- And the traditional taxis are not pleased about that!

Just ask Apple how it felt when they rested on their laurels and Microsoft came swooping in and stole some major market share from them. It’s important to remember that just because you start something great, doesn’t mean you’ll always be the best at it. You need to work hard to stay ahead and in today’s markets, that means listening to your customers and keeping up with technology.

Thanks for your business and make it a great day!

Warm Regards,
