I keep hearing people encouraging each other to be fearless and it just strikes me as funny. Isn’t fear a basic function we have to help us stay alive? Why is being fearless something we are supposed to be stiriving for?
Maybe there are good reasons to have fear. The idea of jumping off a cliff or wrestling with an alligator sound really scary to me and I don’t want to do them. I believe that’s a good instinct to have in place. So perhaps the idea isn’t to be fearless, but to be brave.
It was scary when I first looked at starting this company. What if it didn’t work? What if I failed? I knew I had what it took in the skills and the drive departments, I just needed to be brave enough to move forward and make that jump. I am so glad I did!
So whether it’s starting a company, taking a new job, or becoming a parent (Yup, that was on my list too), of course you’re going to be a little bit scared. Instincts are there for some very good reasons. But then there are times when you want to look fear boldly in the face and be brave. Just go for it!
Thanks for your business and make it a great day!
