Erik’s Editorial Corner

erik_barnshawAs we’re heading into September, I’m starting to think about taxes and I encourage you to do the same. I’m not talking about filing them – I’m talking about planning for them.

Look at your spending for the year, what’s left in the budgets, and what’s the best way to use that money. With all of the enhancements to the Section 179 Deduction this year, there are a lot of reasons to look into spending your funds to secure or enhance your IT systems.

The good news is the maximum Section 179 Deduction has increased to $500,000 and the total amount of equipment that can be purchased is up to $2 million for 2011. The bad news is these amounts are going to be drastically reduced next year.

We’re not tax advisors, but we can help you devise an IT equipment purchase plan to optimize your benefits in 2011. Check out the Section 179 Deduction details here.

As you’ve heard me stress many times, planning ahead is key to building a better business. Tax planning is a great example of how you can stay ahead of the competition and maximize the benefits available to you.

Thanks for your business and make it a great day!

Warm Regards,
